Contact with Civilization!

We’re going out for a sail but that doesn’t mean we’re “gone”. We can still send and receive e-mail and snail mail. See below for how and where to reach us.

EMAIL

Email is how we’ll communicate most often with everyone. Please continue to use our bpdrifter@gmail.com for notes or attachments. We will be checking this account whenever we are in port so it might take us a while to get back to you if we are on passage. We will have email on the boat but it is very slow so we will not be using it as much as the BPDrifter account.

In some ports, we’ll be able to access it from the boat and in others we’ll use internet cafes. We’ll use the Travel Diary section of the website to post updates on what, where and how we’re doing.

To drop us a note right now through the website, fill in the spaces below and this note will be forwarded directly to our email address and posted on the webpage.

We look forward to keeping in touch with all of you. After all, we might need money or a place to live by the time this adventure is done!

PHONE

No, we aren’t going to have a cell or satellite phone on the boat. We’ll call “home” to family and friends periodically to hear the sound of familiar voices but we won’t be able to receive calls unless we make arrangements ahead of time.

MAIL

Yes, even on a boat, the mail still gets through. We have a mail forwarding service, with a Florida address where you can send letters or care packages. They will hold our mail until we tell them when and where to send it. You can send them mail as often as you like.
To make sure we don’t get “spam” mail just drop us an email and we’ll be happy to give you the address.
